24 September 2008 will see the opening of the first Dubai hotel resort on The Palm Island, Jumeirah. Atlantis, The Palm Islands, each of which will be shaped like a palm tree, are the biggest man-made islands in the world, and has thus gained the interest of Discovery Channel, MegaWorld. Dubai is not only a stunning location to visit, but has also proven itself to be quite capable of utilising cutting edge technology and engineering to further improve the location for visitors and locals alike.
Of all the hotels in Dubai, Palm Jumeirah promises to be the most inviting. The hotel will boast the largest open water aquarium in the world, and over 65, 000 Arabian Sea fish will be transported to the 12,000 kilolitre Ambassador Lagoon aquarium on the island. Once The Palm Islands are completed, an additional 520 kilometres of beach will be added to the area, making it the ideal place to book accommodation in Dubai.
Palm Jumeirah is already almost booked out for the autumn season, which is not at all surprising considering that the resort has so much to offer visitors. The hotel is situated on the island’s crescent, and unlike any other hotel in Dubai it will be home to a 17 hectare water-themed amusement park, including numerous salt and fresh-water pools, the aquarium already mentioned, many restaurants boasting celebrity chefs, a vibrant nightclub, a spa and fitness club, boutiques and, of course, the expanse of beaches. The hotel will also be home to the Lost Chambers – a maze of underground tunnels affording visitors underwater views of “the ruins of Atlantis”.
Of all the hotels in Dubai to choose from, the Russia Investment Roadshow has chosen Atlantis, The Palm, to host a two-day conference revolving around the theme of Russian investment and business. The conference is expected to draw large amounts of international visitors to the resort, from countries such as Russia, America, Europe, Asia, and the Gulf region.
