Interstate Hotels & Resorts (IHR) will manage the recently constructed 102-room Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel in New York City. IHR is the USA’s foremost autonomous hotel administrator, and this is the ninth New York hotel that they will manage. Ben Wong, who owns the Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel, is the senior partner and founder of Wok and Roll Restaurants, also based in New York.
Thomas F. Hewitt, chief executive officer at Interstate, commented, “New York is a critically important U.S. market, and we continue to expand our presence there. The Best Western is our first hotel on the vibrant Lower East Side and our first project with Ben Wong, a well-respected and progressive entrepreneur. Our management pipeline remains quite active, with current owners being an important source of new business."
Hewitt went on to say that IHR’s expanding portfolio of New York hotels includes another five hotels that it manages in other parts of the state, and the total number of hotels that it runs in New York State alone now stands at 14. IHR’s tactic is to group the hotels they manage in order to make the most of operational advantages in well-established economies such as New York accommodation, which remains one of the best hotel markets in the US. This way, IHR is able to ensure that the hotels produce top performances for their owners.
The eight-storey Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel is situated in central Little Italy and Chinatown, at the corner of Grand and Bowery Street. This makes it only a short walk from Tribeca and SOHO, and Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge and Broadway theatres are within easy reach on the subway. The New York hotel offers a free continental breakfast, business and fitness centres, as well as Internet access.
